Let's say there are two styles of consulting someone:1) First way is to be a "good mirror" for the client. This is the approach commonly associated with psychotherapy, in which the therapist is only there to help you get in touch with your deeper thoughts and emotions. This style hopes that eventually the clients will find answers to their problems from within themselves.
2) Second way is to be more of an active element in the transformation of a client - through charisma, advice and encouraging feedback. Here the consultant is more of a guide and a mentor who can offer helpful insights to someone seeking help.
These two styles have very different energies. As astrologers, we are automatically assuming some role as a guide. Some of us are more inclined to be a mirror rather than an authoritative guide - if you use astrology to help others, it may be good to know how much of a mirror or a guide you are.
A consultant with a lot of Fire most likely will need to offer guidance, inspiration and insights in order to influence and perhaps motivate the client. Someone with lots of Earth may offer practical suggestions and useful exercises, whereas someone with mostly Water may offer supportive empathy and emotional insights, placing greater emphasis on healing. Someone with a lot of Air element might be the most "mirror like" in his/her clear objectivity.
Saturn would take control of the consultation (necessary for all good consultant); Moon decides the underlying tone of your conversation - Mercury relates to how you convey your insights - e.g. my Sagittarius Moon makes me opinionated, but my Mercury in Libra helps to soften the message, etc.
How are your planets placed in your chart, and how is that helpful or challenging to your role as a consultant? It may be helpful and interesting to look at your chart from this angle.
